Irai Anbu promotes lifelong learning at Tamil Nadu college
At a recent graduation ceremony in Dindigul, former Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Irai Anbu emphasized the importance of lifelong learning. He encouraged students to appreciate their parents for their sacrifices that made their education possible. Speaking at the 55th convocation of M.V. Muthiah Government Women’s College for Arts and Science, Anbu highlighted that not everyone has the chance to attend higher education. He praised teachers for their role in spreading knowledge and urged them to help produce more graduates, especially from rural areas and for families with first-time graduates. Anbu noted that arts and sciences are connected. He mentioned famous figures like Beethoven and Thomas Edison to illustrate how creativity and innovation are vital in both fields. He stressed that education impacts not just individual lives but also the economy. He also pointed out the important roles women hold in today's society and expressed hope that more women would achieve leadership positions. Anbu concluded by stating that degrees should be used for the betterment of society rather than just being kept. The ceremony saw over 1,000 students receiving their degrees in various subjects.
