Ireland restricts alcohol sales for St Patrick's Day
As St Patrick's Day approaches, alcohol sales in Ireland will be restricted. Supermarkets and off-licences can only sell alcohol from 12.30pm to 10pm on March 17, unlike the usual 10.30am start on Mondays. In Dublin city centre, alcohol sales will be delayed until after the St Patrick's Day parade. This measure is part of a public safety plan to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere during the celebrations. Pubs and restaurants will operate normally, serving alcohol from 10.30am to 11.30pm. Nightclubs and late bars can serve until 2.30am, differing from the restrictions placed on off-licences.
