In contrast, Labour Party leader Ivana Bacik criticized the outcome, calling it a "disaster" for various global issues, including climate change and women's rights. Another government official echoed these concerns, stating that Trump's re-election would negatively impact both Ireland and the world.

Despite differing views, Harris and Martin stated that Ireland will work with the new U.S. administration, regardless of political affiliation. They stressed the importance of maintaining strong political engagement with U.S. leaders on key issues.
