Irish man arrested in Budapest over murder of American tourist Mackenzie Michalski

An Irish man, 37, has been arrested in Budapest in connection with the murder of Mackenzie Michalski, a 31-year-old American woman. She was reported missing after last being seen at a nightclub on November 4. Her body was discovered in an apartment on November 8. Police are investigating suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance and have not ruled out foul play. Friends and family have been in contact with the U.S. Embassy and have launched a fundraising campaign to support efforts to bring her home. A vigil is planned in her hometown of Fredonia, New York.
