Irregular routines increase depression risk, study finds
A new study highlights that irregular sleep, lack of sunlight, and inconsistent exercise can increase the risk of depression. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining a steady routine for better mental health. The research tracked 6,800 American adults, showing that those with fluctuating daily activities and light exposure were more likely to experience depressive symptoms. Younger adults were particularly affected by inconsistent routines. To improve mental well-being, experts suggest sticking to a regular sleep schedule, getting daily sunlight, and staying active. Limiting screen time before bed and eating a balanced diet are also recommended for better emotional health.
