Islamabad committee discusses expulsion of illegal immigrants

ISLAMABAD - A government committee met to discuss the removal of illegal immigrants from the country. This meeting focused on several important topics, including human smuggling and stricter penalties for beggars. The committee, known as the Harden the State Committee, is led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. This was the second meeting of the committee since it was formed on January 28. The committee was established following a previous meeting of the Apex Committee on January 3. The timing of this meeting is critical, as it comes just one week before a set deadline for illegal immigrants to leave voluntarily. Members of the committee include home ministers from all four provinces, as well as representatives from Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. It also includes officials from various government agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), military intelligence, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The committee is responsible for creating and implementing laws related to these issues.
