Islamabad spent Rs 1.35 billion on protest management
The Pakistani government has revealed how much it has spent on managing protests in Islamabad over the last five years. The total amount exceeded Rs 1.35 billion. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi provided these figures in a report to the National Assembly. He outlined the costs associated with handling various protests in the capital. In the fiscal year 2020-2021, the government spent over Rs 96 million on managing protests. The following year, expenses rose sharply to Rs 277.9 million. In the fiscal year 2022-2023, the allocation increased significantly to Rs 724 million. For the current fiscal year 2023-2024, the expenditure on protest management has been recorded at Rs 100 million. These figures shed light on the financial impact of protests over the years.
