Israel targets key military sites in Syria with extensive airstrikes
Israel has conducted around 250 airstrikes in Syria over the past 48 hours, targeting key military sites following the collapse of President Bashar al-Assad's government. These strikes have destroyed airfields, aircraft, radar systems, and weapons depots. A war monitor reported that Israel has "destroyed the most important military sites in Syria," including military installations in Damascus and naval assets near Latakia. The strikes aimed to weaken the former regime's military capabilities. In addition to airstrikes, Israel has deployed troops into a buffer zone on the Golan Heights, described as a temporary security measure. The strikes have caused significant damage to Syrian military infrastructure across various governorates.
