Israeli tanks advance into Rafah, sparking global condemnation

Israeli tanks advanced into the center of Rafah for the first time, continuing a ground offensive in Gaza. The attack sparked global condemnation after a tent camp blaze killed at least 45 Palestinians, over half of them children, women, and the elderly. Around one million people have fled the Israeli offensive in Rafah since early May. More than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed in the offensive. Spain, Ireland, and Norway are set to recognize a Palestinian state.
