ISRO successfully docks satellites in Space Docking Experiment, marking a milestone for India
ISRO has successfully docked its satellites as part of the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX), making India the fourth country to achieve this milestone. The docking involved precise maneuvers to capture and stabilize the spacecraft. The docking process followed a trial on January 12, where the satellites were brought within three meters of each other. This was a key step before the successful docking, which was completed after earlier attempts were missed. Launched on December 30, 2024, the SpaDeX project aims to demonstrate cost-effective in-space docking using small spacecraft. The mission involved two satellites, SDX01 and SDX02, each weighing around 220 kg.
