ISRO successfully docks SpaDeX satellites, marking a historic achievement for India

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully docked its SpaDeX satellites on January 16, 2025. This achievement follows a trial attempt on January 12, where the satellites were brought to a distance of three meters before being safely separated. Launched on December 30, 2024, the SpaDeX mission makes India the fourth country to achieve successful space docking, joining the United States, Russia, and China. The mission involved two small satellites, SDX01 and SDX02, launched into a 475 km orbit. ISRO confirmed that the control of the two satellites as a single object was successful. Further tests, including undocking and power transfer checks, are planned in the coming days.
