ISRO to launch PSLV-C59 mission today to deploy ESA's PROBA-3 satellites
ISRO is launching the PSLV-C59 mission on December 4, 2024, to deploy ESA's PROBA-3 satellites. This mission highlights India's engineering capabilities and international cooperation in space exploration. The PROBA-3 mission includes two satellites, the Coronagraph Spacecraft and the Occulter Spacecraft, which will operate together to study the Sun's corona. The Occulter will block the Sun's light, allowing the Coronagraph to observe the solar atmosphere. The PSLV-C59 will carry approximately 550 kg of satellites into a highly elliptical orbit. The launch will take place from Sriharikota, with the satellites expected to reach their operational orbit after about 18 minutes.
