Italian teacher suspended for OnlyFans account discovered

A nursery school teacher in northern Italy has been suspended after a parent found out that she runs an OnlyFans account. Elena Maraga, 29, was recognized by a parent who then shared the news on social media, leading the school to take action. Maraga was placed on leave after the discovery of her adult content online. When asked to delete her OnlyFans account, she declined, stating that her actions did not harm anyone. She added that her monthly salary of 1,200 euros was not enough to cover her expenses. Maraga defended her decision to join OnlyFans, explaining that she wanted to earn more money. She emphasized that the income from the platform is significantly higher than her teaching salary. In just one day, she claims to earn what she would typically make in a month as a teacher. Though her work is seen as not aligned with the Catholic values of the school, some parents have shown support for her. They praised her dedication to teaching. Maraga, who has five years of experience and holds a degree in Educational Sciences, has faced financial challenges in her teaching career. The situation has drawn national attention, with Italy's largest trade union backing Maraga. The general secretary of the Cgil Flc union stated that dismissing her would be unfair because her outside activities are legal. In light of this controversy, the Italian Ministry of Education is considering new ethical guidelines for teachers regarding online content. Maraga remains optimistic about her situation, noting that some parents want her to continue teaching their children. She believes adults should have the freedom to make choices in their personal lives and insists her work does not harm anyone.
