ITBP constable kills senior officer over dress code
An ITBP constable shot and killed his senior officer during a morning parade in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred after a dispute over the dress code escalated into a heated argument. Constable Saroj Kumar Yadav, 32, allegedly fired 20 rounds from his service weapon, an INSAS rifle, at Assistant Sub-Inspector Devender Singh Dahiya, 59. The shooting took place outside their barrack at the ITBP's 38th battalion headquarters. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. This shooting follows a previous case in September 2023, where two personnel were killed by a colleague in a separate incident in Balrampur district.
