ITeS jobs in India expected to grow 20% in 2025
India's Information Technology and Enabled Services (ITeS) sector is set to expand significantly in 2025, with job openings expected to grow by 20 percent. This information comes from the "Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025," which analyzed data from over 42,000 candidates and more than 11,000 recruiter interactions. The demand for roles in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing is predicted to rise by 75 percent. This growth is largely driven by the increasing use of new technologies. The gig economy and remote work are also contributing factors, estimated to add 10 percent to job growth. However, about 40 percent of the workforce will need to update their skills to remain competitive. The report notes changes in salary trends across various roles. For instance, DevOps professionals with Amazon Web Services (AWS) skills are seeing salary hikes of nearly 10 percent. On the other hand, entry-level frontend developers' salaries have decreased by about 1.5 lakhs per annum. In contrast, experienced frontend developers have enjoyed a salary increase of approximately 4 lakhs. Key programming skills like Python are among the highest-paying, with salaries almost doubling every five years of experience. Java has also seen significant growth, increasing fivefold for those with over ten years of experience. Bangalore continues to be the leading tech hub, hosting 35 percent of India’s tech workforce, followed by Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad at 20 percent each. The rise of remote work allows professionals to move to smaller cities, broadening the talent pool for companies. Cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Indore are becoming popular for tech jobs. Hiring for specialized skills in cybersecurity and space technology is expected to increase. Experts suggest that companies will focus more on skill-based hiring rather than diversity goals, as they seek expertise in deep tech and artificial intelligence. Professionals who invest in upskilling will likely experience better career growth, according to Sarbojit Mallick, Co-founder of Instahyre.
