ITV reveals new thriller Code of Silence premiere details

ITV has shared a first look at its new thriller, Code of Silence. The show features a well-known cast, including Charlotte Ritchie from Call the Midwife, Andrew Buchan from Black Doves, and Rose Ayling-Ellis from EastEnders. Code of Silence is a six-part series that tells the story of Alison Brooks, a deaf woman with exceptional lip-reading skills. The police recruit her for an undercover operation involving a dangerous gang. The series begins airing on Sunday, May 18. The show was created by Catherine Moulton, who brings her own experiences with lip-reading and hearing loss into the narrative. Viewers can expect a unique perspective on crime and communication. Alison works in a police canteen, where she has quietly listened in on conversations for years. Her life changes when she helps detectives DS Ashleigh Francis and DI James Marsh in a high-stakes case against a gang planning a heist. As Alison decodes their secret discussions, she becomes a vital part of the investigation. However, her increasing involvement puts her in greater danger. A complicated relationship develops with Liam Barlow, a new gang member, which threatens her secret identity. The series explores Alison’s challenges in balancing undercover work with personal struggles and relationships. The cast also includes Nathan Armarkwei Laryea, Joe Absolom, and John Bishop, who makes a cameo appearance. Code of Silence will be available on ITV1, STV, ITVX, and STV Player starting May 18.
