Jackson Cantwell impressed by Miami and Ohio State visits
Spring break saw five-star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell visiting Miami, Michigan, and Ohio State. This time of year is busy for football recruiting, with many top prospects checking out college programs. Cantwell's trip to Miami narrowed the gap with other schools. However, Ohio State is heavily pursuing him and is expected to secure an official visit soon. Michigan is also in the running as Cantwell considers his options for official visits in the coming months. Another prospect, a 2027 receiver, enjoyed his visit to Notre Dame. He appreciated the culture and coaching staff, especially their plans to involve receivers more in their offense. Notre Dame is likely to remain a key player in his recruitment. The 2027 tight end was also on Notre Dame's campus recently. He felt welcomed by the coaches and players and is attracted to their emphasis on tight end development. He is exploring different programs, including Pitt and Ohio State, which have distinct uses for tight ends. Ohio offensive tackle Fryzel had a strong visit to Ohio State and is forming a bond with the new offensive line coach. While the Buckeyes are favorites, he was also impressed by Michigan's facilities and culture. Tight end Miree visited LSU and found their facilities and coaching impressive. He doesn't have an official visit scheduled but LSU is keen to attract him, potentially making them a strong contender. Finally, a Michigan State legacy returned to campus and noticed significant changes within the program. He is building a connection with quarterback prospect Kayd Coffman, which could influence his decision. Other schools like Notre Dame, Michigan, and Penn State are also in consideration.
