Jacob Bayla shines as UP defeats La Salle in UAAP Finals Game 1

In Game 1 of the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball finals, University of the Philippines rookie Jacob Bayla effectively guarded La Salle's Kevin Quiambao, limiting him to just one point in the second half. Quiambao had scored 18 points in the first half. Bayla contributed five points, three steals, and two rebounds in UP's 73-65 victory. He expressed his excitement about playing in the finals and acknowledged the physicality of the league. UP coach Goldwin Monteverde praised Bayla for his performance against Quiambao, highlighting his determination as a rookie. The teams will meet again for Game 2 on Wednesday.
