Jaideep Ahlawat wins OTT Star of the Year award

Jaideep Ahlawat recently won the OTT Star of the Year (Male) Award at the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2025, held on March 20 in Mumbai. The event celebrated talents from Bollywood and OTT platforms. In his acceptance speech, Jaideep expressed gratitude to the director and writer of his film, Maharaj. He acknowledged their trust in him to portray a challenging character. He said, “Thanks to my writers, producers and directors who believe in us to play those complicated characters." Jaideep looked sharp at the awards in a crisp black suit. Following his win, actor Arjun Kapoor congratulated him at the ceremony. Jaideep is currently receiving praise for his role as Hathiram Chaudhary in season 2 of Paatal Lok. He shared that he underwent considerable preparation to maintain the character's consistency from the first season. To play his roles, Jaideep made extreme changes to his body. He gained weight for Paatal Lok and then lost it to showcase six-pack abs in Maharaj. He mentioned that while gaining weight is easy, losing it requires hard work and discipline. Looking ahead, Jaideep will appear in the upcoming film Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, alongside Saif Ali Khan. The film, directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, is set to premiere on Netflix on March 27.
