Jaishankar meets global counterparts at Raisina Dialogue

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell on Tuesday. They talked about security issues involving both their countries and broader global matters. Jaishankar was attending the Raisina Dialogue, India's key conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics. Jaishankar also had meetings with several foreign ministers during the event. He spoke with officials from Nepal, Thailand, Luxembourg, Latvia, and the Maldives. On social media, he shared details of these discussions. For instance, he mentioned meeting Nepalese Minister Arzu Rana Deuba to discuss bilateral cooperation. He also interacted with Rafael Mariano Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, focusing on nuclear safety and non-proliferation. Additionally, Jaishankar discussed various topics with the Luxembourg Foreign Minister, including UN reform and the India-EU partnership. His discussions with other leaders included those with the Philippines Foreign Secretary Enrique A. Manalo, where they talked about connectivity and strengthening their ASEAN partnership. Meetings with the Maldivian Minister Abdulla Khaleel and Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže also took place, covering topics like bilateral cooperation and current issues in Ukraine. Jaishankar noted his productive talks with Thailand's Foreign Minister on digital connectivity and food security. He also highlighted discussions with Peru's Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer Salcedo, focusing on enhancing political and economic ties. An agreement on information exchange between the National Archives of India and the General Archives of Peru was also signed during the dialogue.
