Jakub Lauko returns to the Bruins from Minnesota
The Boston Bruins have traded Jakub Lauko back from the Minnesota Wild before the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Lauko was part of a deal involving Justin Brazeau. Earlier, the Bruins had sent Lauko and a fourth-round pick to the Wild for Vinni Lettieri and another fourth-round pick in June. Since returning to the Bruins, Lauko has performed well. In his first five games back, he has contributed with two assists, six penalty minutes, and 20 hits. Before this trade, Lauko recorded three goals and three assists over 38 games with the Wild. Lauko expressed happiness about returning to a team he knows well. He mentioned in an interview that even though there have been changes in the locker room, some core players like David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy remain. He feels it is easier to return to a familiar environment rather than starting fresh with a new team. Lauko aims to support the Bruins as they finish the season strong. His recent performance shows he can provide useful depth and toughness. As a pending restricted free agent, many will watch closely to see if he can maintain his game.
