timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Jalandhar authorities have taken action to demolish an illegal building linked to drug smugglers. The Jalandhar municipal corporation worked with the local police to tear down a double-storey structure in the Bhargo Camp area on Friday. Officials claim the building was built on government land using money from drug trafficking. This demolition is part of a larger effort called the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, aimed at removing illegal encroachments in Punjab. Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur stated that the building was associated with three known drug smugglers: Varinder, Jatinder, and Rohit Kumar. The trio is currently in jail and has a long history of drug-related offenses. They have a total of 15 cases against them under various laws related to drug and alcohol offenses.
