Jamie Oliver's flapjack biscuits are quick and easy
Jamie Oliver has shared a simple recipe for flapjack biscuits that anyone can make in under 30 minutes. This treat uses just five ingredients and is perfect for sharing or enjoying throughout the week. The recipe, from his cookbook "5 Ingredients – Quick & Easy Food," yields 16 squares of chewy, golden brown biscuits. Jamie emphasizes that the recipe is easy and quick, making it suitable for all ages. You can even swap golden syrup with sugar, honey, or maple syrup for different flavors. To make the flapjacks, start by preheating your oven to 180C (350F). Prepare a deep 20cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper and a little olive oil to prevent sticking. In a food processor, mix 100g of unsalted butter, 100g of mixed dried fruit and nuts, 100g of porridge oats, and 100g of self-raising flour. Pulse until the mixture binds together. Next, add 100g of golden syrup and pulse again until everything is well mixed. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared tin. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Once done, cut the flapjack into 16 squares while still in the tin. Let them cool for five minutes before lifting them out and cooling completely on a wire rack. Enjoy your tasty biscuits!
