Jason Momoa cast as Lobo in upcoming Supergirl film

Jason Momoa has been cast as Lobo in the upcoming DCU movie "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow." This film is directed by Craig Gillespie and will explore a storyline from a DC miniseries published in 2021 and 2022. Momoa is known for his role as Aquaman in previous DC films, including in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Momoa shared that he initially thought he would play Lobo when he was first contacted by Zack Snyder. He mentioned that he owns every Lobo comic and had expected to portray the character. Momoa expressed surprise at being cast as Aquaman instead. He is still actively filming scenes for "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," which began production in January 2024. The film is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2026. The story follows Supergirl as she embarks on a galactic journey with her friend Ruthye to seek revenge against Krem.
