JEE Advanced ranks determine IIT admissions for CSE
Admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are determined by the JEE Advanced exam rankings. Only the top 250,000 students from the JEE Mains are eligible to take this exam. The top five IITs include IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Kharagpur. Each has specific opening and closing ranks for the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program based on the 2024 admissions. For IIT Bombay, the opening rank for CSE was 166, and the closing rank was 167. At IIT Delhi, the ranks varied; the Computer Science and Engineering (4 Years) program had an opening rank of 271 and a closing rank of 116. There are also programs that combine Bachelor and Master’s degrees. IIT Madras recorded an opening rank of 76 and a closing rank of 159 for its CSE program. IIT Kanpur had an opening rank of 120 and a closing rank of 248. Meanwhile, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech. (Hons.) in CSE had an opening rank of 414 and a closing rank of 415. The next JEE Mains Session 2 exam will take place on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9, 2025. The exams will occur in two shifts daily, providing further details on the official website.
