Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin wins NASA contract to build $100 billion space station
Jeff Bezos' company, Blue Origin, has received a $130 million contract from NASA to build a new space station called Orbital Reef. This station will replace the International Space Station (ISS), which is set to be decommissioned in 2031. Orbital Reef will focus on commercial space activities and may host space tourists. It will initially accommodate 10 people and is designed to support advanced research in microgravity. The station will feature large windows for views of Earth and space. The project is expected to cost around $100 billion and aims to be operational by 2030. Blue Origin is collaborating with several companies, including Sierra Space and Boeing, to develop the station.
