Jeff Bridges releases lost songs and stays optimistic
Jeff Bridges is enjoying life while working on music after facing personal struggles. He lost multiple homes in recent fires in Los Angeles but maintains a positive outlook. The actor, known for his roles in movies like "Crazy Heart" and "The Big Lebowski," is now spending more time in his garage, which serves as a creative space for music and art. In a recent video call from Santa Barbara, Bridges discussed his upcoming album, "Slow Magic," featuring songs he recorded nearly 50 years ago. He explained how it all came together in a serendipitous way. Music has always been important to him, connecting him with others and serving as a refuge. Bridges grew up in a well-known acting family and was encouraged by his father to pursue a career in acting. Though he had early interests in music, it took him years to embrace it fully. He recalled jamming with friends during high school and selling songs to big names like Quincy Jones. Despite facing health issues in 2020, Bridges seems optimistic, saying, “If you’ve got some stuff that you want to share, now’s the time, man!” He reflected on how his experiences have shaped him and how he continues to explore his creativity. These days, Bridges is writing new songs and sharing them online, hoping to inspire and connect with others while supporting charities like No Kid Hungry. As he sings one of his new songs, there’s a sense of warmth and magic in his voice, revealing his enduring passion for music.
