Jenna Ortega struggles to maintain composure in comedy

Jenna Ortega recently talked about her experiences filming "Death of a Unicorn," a new dark comedy from A24. In the movie, she stars alongside Paul Rudd as a father and daughter who accidentally hit a unicorn with their car. Ortega described the challenge of staying serious while working with a comedic cast that included Tea Leoni and Richard E. Grant. She found it tough not to laugh at the funny antics of her co-stars, especially Rudd. "I couldn’t make eye contact with anybody," she said, noting that the humor on set often tested her ability to stay in character. Ortega plays Ridley, who represents the film's moral voice. She found it difficult to portray her character's seriousness in the midst of comedic chaos. "It was brutal," Ortega explained, recalling the struggle of trying to convince her fellow characters about the seriousness of their situation. Despite the challenges, Ortega praised Rudd for being kind and easy to work with. She mentioned that his playful nature added a fun dynamic to their scenes together. Their solid chemistry helped bring their characters' relationship to life. "Death of a Unicorn" is set to be released on March 28.
