Jets aim to trade with former coaches for upgrades
The New York Jets may look to enhance their roster without spending too much money. They could do this by trading players that their former coaches, Robert Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich, still value. Mike Tannenbaum, the Jets' former general manager, previously had success by making trades with his old coach Eric Mangini. This happened back in 2009. Tannenbaum used Mangini’s knowledge of the Jets roster to secure favorable trades. He moved up in the draft to select quarterback Mark Sanchez and later acquired wide receiver Braylon Edwards. Currently, Saleh is the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, and Ulbrich is in a similar role with the Atlanta Falcons. The new Jets general manager, Darren Mougey, might consider trading players from the current Jets defense that Saleh and Ulbrich have liked in the past. This could help the Jets gain valuable assets without giving up too much in return.
