Jets consider signing Mo Alie-Cox as tight end
The New York Jets are making big changes to their roster for the 2025 season. They have moved on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers and signed Justin Fields to lead their offense. The team recently cut star wide receiver Davante Adams, who has since joined the Los Angeles Rams. Additionally, starting tight end Tyler Conklin is still a free agent. To help Fields succeed, the Jets need to strengthen their offense. Currently, Jeremy Ruckert is set to be the starting tight end, but the team is looking for more talent at that position. Mo Alie-Cox, a tight end who is currently available, has been mentioned as a potential signing. Alie-Cox is known for his blocking skills and decent receiving ability. He averages around 241 yards and three touchdowns each season. Last year, he had 12 catches for 147 yards and one touchdown, but his role was limited. His best season was in 2020 when he recorded 31 receptions for 394 yards. The Jets have the seventh pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and may look to draft a top tight end. If they sign Alie-Cox and draft a young player, their tight end position could become a strong point for the team. Alie-Cox is projected to receive a one-year contract worth $2 million, which fits within the Jets' cap space of about $32 million.
