Jewelry worth $11,500 stolen during move in Mount Pleasant

A local resident experienced a troubling incident while moving on March 10. Jewelry worth $11,500 was stolen during the process. The woman reported that three movers from a company in Austin, Texas, took a red jewelry box from her bedroom. She had clearly told the men not to touch anything, especially the jewelry on her dresser. The box held a diamond ring and two diamond earrings. While moving, the woman also noticed her Alexa device was missing, although it was later returned. One worker claimed he didn't know that he wasn't allowed to take it. After the movers left, the police found an email on the woman's phone that listed the name of the moving company. When they called the company, they were informed that the manager would reach out soon. The police are still investigating the case as they work to identify the three men involved.
