Jewish protesters demand release of pro-Palestinian activist

Jewish protesters gathered in the lobby of Trump Tower on Thursday, demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist arrested for immigration violations. Police arrested 98 demonstrators for trespassing and obstruction. Khalil, a permanent U.S. resident, was detained outside his apartment and faces deportation. He is currently held in an immigration detention center in Louisiana. In a separate legal action, Khalil and seven students filed a lawsuit to prevent Congress from obtaining disciplinary records related to campus protests. They argue this request infringes on First Amendment rights.
