Jharkhand court dismisses asset probe into ex-ministers
The Jharkhand high court has dismissed a public interest litigation seeking an investigation into the assets of former ministers from the Raghubar Das government. The case involved five ministers, including Amar Kumar Bauri and Neeraj Yadav. The petition, filed by Pankaj Yadav in 2020, requested an inquiry by the anti-corruption bureau into the ministers' assets. The current Hemant Soren government had previously approved an inquiry, which the bureau began. The anti-corruption bureau conducted a preliminary inquiry and issued notices to the ministers regarding their assets. The court's dismissal ends the public interest investigation.
