Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump’s admiration for "Cats."
Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about Donald Trump's admiration for the musical "Cats" during his show on Tuesday. Kimmel's comments followed Trump’s remarks about the musical at the Kennedy Center. Trump described the show as having "gorgeous" bodies on stage. Kimmel took a jab at Trump, linking his love for "Cats" to past controversial comments he made. During a meeting with the Kennedy Center's board, Trump mentioned attending the Broadway premiere of "Cats" and remarked on the attractiveness of the performers. He noted that while the male performers weren't as appealing to him, he found the women to be "gorgeous." In his impersonation of Trump, Kimmel humorously referenced specific characters from the musical. He poked fun at how Trump seems to be a fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber's works. Trump has used Webber's music during his campaign and named "Evita" as his favorite Broadway show. Interestingly, a White House official once played "Memory," a famous song from "Cats," to calm Trump during stressful moments. However, Webber himself was not pleased with Trump using his music at campaign events. He even sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump's 2020 campaign at the request of a former star from "Cats."
