Job fair in Tirunelveli provides 446 offer letters

On Saturday, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker M. Appavu delivered job offer letters to 446 candidates at a job fair in Tirunelveli. This private job fair took place at St. Johns College in Palayamkottai, organized by the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre. Mr. Appavu noted that this was the 10th job fair in Tirunelveli since May 2021. He stated that 945 companies have participated in these fairs, leading to 6,316 new job placements. In this recent event, 116 companies took part, resulting in job offers for 466 candidates. He also emphasized the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tamil Nadu, with 1.7 million established over the past four years. Furthermore, 32 industrial parks and 28 industrial estates have been created, increasing job opportunities. Mr. Appavu mentioned that students preparing for government exams are receiving special training through the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre. Collector R. Sukumar encouraged job seekers to improve their skills to match modern technological demands. Every month, small-scale job fairs and career guidance sessions are held at the Centre, providing continual support for job seekers. The event was attended by Lok Sabha member C. Robert Bruce, MLA Abdul Wahab, and Corporation Mayor G. Ramakrishnan, among others.
