John Means signs with Cleveland Guardians for fresh start

John Means, a former star pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, is starting fresh with the Cleveland Guardians after facing multiple injuries. He is coming off his second Tommy John surgery and signed a one-year contract with the Guardians. This new chapter brings him relief and excitement. Means spent 11 years with the Orioles, where he had some standout moments. He made his major league debut in 2018 during a challenging time for the team. Despite the struggles, Means achieved a 3.73 ERA, was named an All-Star, and pitched a no-hitter. In recent years, Means struggled with health issues. He had a rough start to the 2022 season and had to undergo surgeries. After making a few appearances in 2023, he faced more setbacks and again needed surgery in June 2024. While the Orioles had successful seasons, reaching the postseason in 2023 and 2024, Means watched from the sidelines. He remained connected to his teammates and drew strength from his Christian faith during these tough times. Now in Cleveland, Means feels healthy and appreciates the support from his new team.
