John Ramsey urges new DNA testing for JonBenét case
John Ramsey, the father of JonBenét Ramsey, has urged police to retest evidence from his daughter's unsolved murder using new DNA technology. He believes advancements in genetic genealogy could help solve the case that has remained open for 28 years. Ramsey's request follows claims made by a woman, Jacqueline Dilson, who alleges her ex-boyfriend, Chris Wolf, is responsible for JonBenét's death. She believes her former partner killed the six-year-old pageant queen due to personal grievances against Ramsey and his family. Wolf has denied these allegations, calling them false and baseless. In a recent interview, John Ramsey said he met with Boulder Police in January to discuss the possibility of retesting crucial pieces of evidence, including a garrotte found at the crime scene. He estimates that there is a 60 to 70 percent chance of finding the killer if DNA testing is conducted. John even offered to pay for the testing but was informed by police that it would not be needed. The tragic murder of JonBenét in 1996 shocked the nation. She was found dead in her family's basement shortly after being reported missing. Over the years, various suspects have emerged, but no one has been charged. Despite the long history of the case, John Ramsey remains hopeful for a breakthrough. He believes that the real perpetrator may turn out to be someone not previously considered a suspect. Although he acknowledges the emotional difficulties that would come with a trial, he is determined to lift the shadow from his family's name.
