Johnstown sewer upgrades nearing completion, compliance ongoing
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Johnstown Redevelopment Authority has nearly completed upgrades to public sewer lines as required by state orders. The Greater Johnstown Water Authority is finalizing minor tasks in the central business district. The JRA plans to close five remaining siphons, marking the end of a lengthy and disruptive project. Johnstown has a deadline of December 2026 to reduce wastewater flow. Currently, 71% of properties in the city have been tested, with many untested systems linked to abandoned structures.
