Jordan defeats Palestine, keeping pressure on South Korea
Jordan won a decisive match against Palestine in the AFC World Cup qualifiers, finishing 3-1. This victory strengthens Jordan's position for the second qualification spot for the 2026 World Cup in Group B. The match took place at Amman International Stadium. Yazan Al Arab scored early for Jordan in the third minute. Abdallah Nasib quickly added another goal just eight minutes later. Though Tamer Seyam scored for Palestine shortly after, Mousa Al Ta’mari sealed the win for Jordan in injury time of the first half. Palestine remains at the bottom of Group B, having only three points from seven matches. They still have hopes of reaching fourth place, currently held by Oman with seven points, who recently drew with South Korea. South Korea leads Group B with 15 points, despite a recent draw against Oman. South Korea's captain, Son Heung-min, emphasized the challenges of qualifying for the World Cup, stating that every match requires hard work. In Group A, Iran maintains its top position with 19 points after defeating the United Arab Emirates 2-0. Uzbekistan follows behind after a win over Kyrgyzstan.
