Jordan praises Trump's fast executive order pace in Ohio
U.S. Representative Jim Jordan praised President Donald Trump's rapid actions in office during his visit to Lima on Thursday. Jordan noted that Trump signed 92 executive orders within his first two months, a significant number compared to President Biden's 162 over four years or Trump's previous 220 in his first term. He believes this quick pace aligns with what Trump promised voters. Jordan emphasized the importance of executive orders, arguing that they help manage government without interference from unelected officials. He made these comments after touring Hesseling & Sons Firearms and Gunsmithing in Lima. As the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jordan also mentioned the need to hold the judiciary accountable, especially after Trump suggested impeaching judges who block his policies. While Chief Justice John Roberts disagreed with the idea of impeaching judges, Jordan acknowledged that the appellate courts are the right way to address poor judicial decisions. He plans to start hearings on judicial issues next week and is pushing for legislation that would limit the scope of judicial injunctions. Additionally, Jordan supports efforts by Elon Musk to identify government waste and has called for the elimination of the U.S. Department of Education, highlighting a pay disparity between federal employees and teachers. He believes that teachers directly impact students more than bureaucrats.
