Jorge Martin aims to recover for Qatar race
Jorge Martin, the reigning MotoGP champion from Spain, is hopeful about returning to racing after suffering injuries. He has missed the first two races of the season and has confirmed he will not compete in Austin, Texas, on March 29 and 30. The next MotoGP event is scheduled for Lusail, Qatar, on April 12 and 13. Martin sustained injuries from two crashes before the season started. He broke his right hand and foot during a training session in Malaysia. After that, he experienced another serious crash while training on a supermoto bike, leading to more injuries. He detailed his conditions, stating he has broken bones in his wrist and foot, along with muscle injuries in his ribs. Despite trailing behind his competitor, Marc Marquez, by 74 points in the standings, Martin remains optimistic. He mentioned that while he hopes to return for the Qatar race, he does not want to rush his recovery, which he says is progressing well. In other news, Miguel Oliveira, a rider for the Yamaha-Pramac team, will also miss the race in Austin due to a shoulder injury sustained during a race in Argentina. He has been replaced by Augusto Fernandez, the 2022 Moto2 World Champion.
