Josh Manson out 3-4 weeks with upper-body injury
Josh Manson, a defenseman for the Colorado Avalanche, will be out for three to four weeks due to an upper-body injury. This update was provided by Avalanche coach Jared Bednar on Wednesday. Manson, who is 33 years old, got hurt during a game against the Calgary Flames last Friday. He was injured late in the second period of that match, which Colorado won 4-2. Manson has already missed time this season; notably, he sat out seven games from early February to early March due to a lower-body injury. He also missed twelve games between late November and late December because of a previous upper-body issue. In his 48 games played this season, Manson has achieved one goal and 14 assists, alongside 28 penalty minutes and 59 blocked shots. He averages 18 minutes and 2 seconds on the ice per game. Currently, he is in the third year of a four-year contract. Manson was drafted in the sixth round by the Anaheim Ducks in 2011. Throughout his career, he has recorded 39 goals and 131 assists in 626 regular-season games with the Ducks and the Avalanche. He also contributed to the Avalanche's triumph in the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2022, with 18 points in 58 playoff games.
