JPMorgan explores new headquarters options in London as Canary Wharf tower reaches capacity
JPMorgan is exploring options for a new European headquarters in London as it outgrows its current tower in Canary Wharf. The bank is considering upgrading its existing office, building a new tower, or relocating to central London. Currently, JPMorgan's office at 25 Bank Street is fully occupied, housing around 12,000 staff. The bank may need 1.5 to 2 million square feet of space in the future. Any decision will follow the move of U.S. staff to a new headquarters in New York next year. Plans could take years to implement, and the bank's asset management division will remain in Blackfriars regardless of the outcome.
