Judge denies trial relocation for Monroe woman charged in fatal birthday party crash

A judge has denied a request to move the trial of Marshella Chidester, a Monroe County woman charged with crashing into a child's birthday party while drunk. The crash in April resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to 11 others. Chidester is facing multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree murder. The next court date is set for February 10, 2025, to discuss the admissibility of her statements to police. A jury trial is scheduled for March. Chidester's blood alcohol level was reportedly more than double the legal limit at the time of the crash. She claims she only had one glass of wine and experienced a medical emergency. If convicted, she could face life in prison.
