Judicial recounts adjust Ontario election margins slightly

thestar.com

TORONTO - Elections Ontario has officially confirmed the results of two close races from last month's provincial election. These races went through judicial recounts due to very narrow margins. In the Mississauga-Erin Mills riding, Progressive Conservative incumbent Sheref Sabawy initially led by only 20 votes over the Liberal candidate. After the recount, his margin of victory increased to 23 votes. In the Mushkegowuk-James Bay riding, NDP incumbent Guy Bourgouin's initial margin was just four votes against his Progressive Conservative opponent. Following the recount, his lead grew to nine votes. The official certification of these results concludes the electoral process for these two ridings.
