Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 likely won’t release until 2026

Jujutsu Kaisen's fans are facing disappointment regarding Season 3 of the popular anime. The second season aired in 2023 and quickly gained worldwide popularity. Following its success, MAPPA, the studio behind the series, announced a third season right after Season 2 ended in December 2023. Season 3 is set to adapt the Culling Game arc, which promises to be full of action. However, over a year after the announcement, there have been few updates on the release date. Shota Goshozono, who won a Best Director award at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, will return as director for Season 3. Instead, the focus was on promoting a compilation film related to earlier storylines, set to release in Japan on May 30. Season 3 will include the Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs before diving into the Culling Game. While these arcs are shorter, they set important story developments. Fans speculate that Season 3 might not arrive until 2026, as there was a three-year gap between the first two seasons. Other events like Aniplex Online Fest and Jump Festa may provide more information later this year. Meanwhile, fans can rewatch the previous seasons and the prequel movie on streaming platforms.
