Jujutsu Kaisen's translation issues persist in latest release
The popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen ended in September 2024. Its final arc involved a major battle against a powerful enemy known as the King of the Curses. The conclusion was bittersweet, showcasing the importance of many characters during the last fight. The anime’s second season aired in 2023, and a third season is currently being produced. The highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 25, which includes chapters from the final story, will be available in English on April 24, 2025. However, fans are disappointed because the new volume still contains many translation errors that have upset readers for years. These mistakes have been criticized for making the story confusing. The issues began in 2020 when the original translator was arrested. John Werry took over in Chapter 133 but has faced complaints about miscommunication and inaccuracies in his translations. Fans have pointed out specific examples of mistakes, and many believe that fan translations are often more accurate. Despite the ongoing complaints, Viz Media has not made significant changes or corrections. Some errors have been quietly fixed, but many still remain. This situation has caused frustration for readers, who feel let down by the official versions. They fear that if the mistakes continue, it could damage their trust in the series and its official translations.
