Just Wold, adventurous veteran from Bath, dies

Just Wold, an adventurous spirit, passed away recently in Surprise, Arizona. He was born in Bath, Maine, in 1930 and led a life full of exciting experiences. From his early days of daring escapades in Bath to fighting in the Korean War, Just was known for his bravery and willingness to help others. Growing up in a family with strong cultural roots, Just's relatives emigrated from Norway and Sweden. He enjoyed many outdoor activities during summers at his family's cottage in West Bath. After serving in the Army, he became a Communications Officer at Brunswick Naval Air Station, traveling globally on military flights. In 1953, Just married Jeanne Leonard, his childhood sweetheart. They settled in Woolwich and renovated a farmhouse while raising three children. To keep his kids engaged during summer, Just bought an island on Lake Pemaquid where they created joyful family memories. After retiring, Just and Jeanne revitalized a century-old apple orchard, transforming it into a thriving B&B called Clarks Cove Farm. There, Just revitalized apple trees and shared their produce with the community. After living in Florida and Tennessee, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, to be closer to family. Just faced the loss of his son, Just Aric Wold, in 2013 and his wife, Jeanne, in 2020. Despite these challenges, he found friendship and healing in his later years. Just is survived by his daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren. A celebration of his life will take place in Maine at a later date.
