A new cultural festival has started at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. The week-long event is called Kai Tak Art Week and aims to highlight the area's history and culture. It features various art installations and activities, coinciding with other city-wide art events. This year's theme is "Hundred Senses." Visitors can enjoy panel discussions, art workshops, and a market. The festival focuses on four main areas: cultural heritage, aviation, sports, and community development. A spokesman for the event said the goal is to help people learn more about Kai Tak's rich history. Kai Tak has played a key role in Hong Kong's past, from the historic Sung Wong Toi site to the former Kai Tak Airport. The activities will be open to the public until March 27. The festival organizers chose not to seek funding from the government’s Mega Ace Fund, which supports art and cultural events. Instead, they received funding from Kai Tak Sports Park Limited, with sponsorship from HSBC and AXA. The total cost of the festival has not been shared.
