Kamala Harris faces historic unpopularity ahead of potential election win

Vice President Kamala Harris may become the least popular Democratic president-elect in 64 years if she wins on November 5. A recent Gallup poll shows her favorability at 48 percent, with 50 percent viewing her unfavorably. Harris's unfavorable ratings are notably high among opposing party supporters, with 80 percent expressing negative views. This marks a significant increase compared to previous candidates, including Donald Trump, who had 78 percent unfavorable ratings in 2020. Trump's current favorability is similar to his 2020 ratings, at 47 percent favorable and 51 percent unfavorable. However, this is an improvement from his record low of 36 percent in 2016. Polls indicate a close race, with Harris leading Trump by 1.4 points as of October 31.
